Ok has anyone had any problems with thier cam gear wearing really bad. I was just wondering. What causes this? If you use a stock pump with a booster plate will it cause excessive where on the gear. Without pulling the dist, how can you tell if you have a gear wearing really bad? thanks
gear wear High oil pressure(hard on pump and gears),cam walk,timing cover wear is where I would start looking first,I had one eat up a couple of gears and found out after a couple of camshafts that it was the dist shaft that was wore out.I would pull it apart and check for shaft wear.
