Disc Brake Conversion

    I already found all the brackets and parts to convert my wildcat to larger front (had the optional stock discs :Brow: ) and rear disc brakes.

    When i was searching, i read somewhere about needing to change the proportioning valve to work with discs.

    What needs to be done to the valve?

    I found replacements on summit, they sell them with one inlet and one outlet, would i jut buy one of these and put it on the rear brakes and restrict flow to the rear so the fronts have a little more power?

    anyone know about this?

    what about on any general car?

    The front brakes are supposed to stop more than the rear (right?), so i would leave the fronts alone and put the rears in a proportioning/restrictor valve, which is adjustable.

    What year? What was the original set up and where did you get the rear disc conversion ? We need to know what type rear Caliper you will be using.

    the rear brakes will be Baer, im not sure about the caliper, theyre part of my differential upgrade (ford 9).

    Im guessing theyll be pretty big?

    Well I dont know about the kit for a ford 9" . But if you use th GS 10 or 12 bolt I went with the TSM kit they offer kits for many makes and you can see the my post here. {THREAD} {Rear disc brake conversion}, {BY Freakazoid}. Or visit http://www.tsmmfg.com/ They are very helpful also. With their kit for my 71 GS 10 bolt you use the 79-85 Cadillac rear calipar which has a Integral park brake. The Brakes work great and there was no need to change the valve.

    ill contact them, i know the setup i was looking at getting had a parking brake also.
