Has anyone out there done business with Dick and Mikes Hot Rod Garage up in North Dakota. Dick Sundhagen is the person I'm dealing with. I'm looking at buying sight unseen and would like to know more about who I'm trustng to tell me everythng about the car. Thanks in advance for any info that you might can provide.

  2. Welcome to V8Buick! So, where in ND are these guys located? Can't say that I've heard of them, but there are 600,000 people here, give or take a few... We have a few ND members on the board, maybe one of us is close enough to go have a look and report back. Have you been provided any pictures of the car? I'm in Fargo, and we have members also in Bismarck, and Grand Forks that I know of. If I'm close enough, I would be happy to take a look and post digital pics here.

  3. Ah, must be the 54 Roadmaster! A google search turned up some web info, and I see they are in Minot. I'm not aware of any ND members in the Minot area. That's about 5 hours from me, probably a couple hours from Bismarck. Car looks nice on the site, and very low miles too. Hope it turns out to be all it looks to be.

  4. Their listing states "I don't see any dents", but the passenger door and fender both look like they are creased/dented. Looks like there could be a rust spot on the front passenger door, and something doesn't look right in the bottom corner of the rear passenger door. Looks pretty messy under the hood. The interior looks pretty fair. Overall, looks decent, but I don't know if the asking price is reasonable or not.

Hey P.I. Dave, you got it right, it's the 54 Roady. He's come off the price some and as of now I've about decided to take the car. I'm convinced the car is going to have to be repainted but heck, the chrome alone would be worth the asking price. And you're right , how did the engine get so messy in 21,000 miles? I would love to have someone go take a look at it though. Where would be the best place to post a plea for help in getting someone to look at it for me. I've asked on a couple of other Forums but apparently this Minot place is rather remote.
Hey, I kinda like this forum. I've checked in a few times and didn't see much in the area of Classics ie fifty456. Maybe I can help change that, eh. My next love after the fifty456's are sixty89 Skylarks/GS's. My son is looking for a nice 69 GS as his first car.

Also where would be the place to post a question regarding show classes of original, archive and survivor and what preservative treatments to a car will disqualify it. Say if I have to paint the 54 I am looking at.
Thanks again for the welcome aboard and I hope not to be such a stranger.

  6. 'mornin Lamar! Yes, Minot is a little out of the way, but it is a nice little city, actually one of the larger 5 or 6 in ND, I believe. I used to travel there every March to play in state amateur basketball tournaments, but haven't been there for a few years now.

One of our members here in Fargo does quite a bit of traveling, though I don't know if he goes up that way. I'll check with him, and maybe you guys could figure something out. Or there's a Bismarck member that's quite a bit closer to Minot, who might be able to help. I'll let you know what I find out. :TU:
