    Hello everyone,

I’d like to thank Patrick Briggs for not onlyanswering my barrage of questions about Buicks but to also let me know that Dennis Connell was a member of this website. I am the new owner of Dennis’ 1970 Buick Skylark and wanted to assure members of this website that the car will be in my family for sometime. It has been my dream to own a muscle car for the better part of 20 years and that dream has finally been realized (truth be told, I thought I would end up owning a Chevy but this Buick is unbelievable).

It’s clear that Dennis put a lot of time, energy and planning into building this car and I could not be happier with it. The seller did not have much information on the engine build (compression ratio changed from 12.5 to somewhere in the 11-range from what he was told) and provided the receipts that were available. If anybody knew Dennis and the history of the car as well as any details I might be missing, I would welcome a conversation.

I also kept his avatar as a tribute of sorts.

Great looking car that would benefit from a set of decals from Stage One Restoration, they go in the hood scoop openings on the fiberglass hood.

Glad to see you got what seems to be a super nice car. Seems like what you were looking for and as we'd discussed, came from a reputable owner so you should have a great starting point!

I’m incredibly fortunate that after all these years I was able to get a car with the set up that I wanted. The only outstanding question is what the compression ratio of the engineers, hoping some members may be familiar with the car.

Nice. When i go to repaint I may do something a little different than my sea mist green.

Wow, sorry to hear Dennis passed.. I sold Dennis this car years ago as a roller. When I dropped it off to him I knew it was in good hands. Dennis was a master carpenter and had an eye for detail. Plus it was a very good canvas to start. PM me your email address and I'll send you some early photos.. Good luck with it.
