what do you use to make mashed potatoes? my personal preference is a masher, the CORRECT amount of butter, and a little butter milk. my girlfriend actually got pi$$ed at me because i would not use a beater, wanted to use butter and buttermilk:stmad: this is really the biggest argument we could come up with today [we both hate relatives, the dolphins, cranberry sauce from a can, and stupid comercials]. when i was growing up, making the mashed potatoes was always my job! i got pretty good at getting rid of all the lumps and having the spuds turn out perfect. and now this upitty woman thinks she knows the RIGHT way:af: what to do...what to douzzled:
never!!! i hate mushy potato salad over-done sucks too! i've even microwaved spuds and had them come out good for this. i like em with or without the peels, but you gotta do it right:TU:
Tater Masher!!!!!!!! Potato masher is the only way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beer :TU: Here's to the potato beater:spank:
Tuber Wars I am so disappointed that none of the handy folks here have come up with a device to appease both parties. The perfect potato demolition mechanism that can restore domestic tranquility into these peoples lives!! An innovative creation that combines both the attributes of machine and manual potato manipulation? Where are the photos and schematics for the device that can save this relationship?? Rube Goldberg, where are you when you are needed!!
Eloquently stated, Patty. You're either onto something or ON something! Hope you had a great turkey day!
maybe i can come up with something i can use my air compressor on, a kind of pneumatic molecular reorganizer that draws power from the protomastic magnetic turbulation generated by the rapid rotation of the steel cord of the steel-belted radial tires rotating at a rapid rate around the steel rotors on the front disk brakes on a 73 amc gemlin with a hood scoop, jacked up with big FAT tires and a little doggie in the back who's head goes up and down and up and down:bglasses: :TU:
I'm lazy - I just use a heavy duty fork at home. :Brow: My aunt has a very well equipped kitchen. When I make them at her house, I use a ricer - no lumps! I also caramelize onions in a little olive oil, before adding butter to the mixture.
Peal , boil , put in the kitchenaid food mixer and add milk and butter till you like 'em ! The perfect mashed potatoe , and you can lick the mixer spoons ! :Brow: :TU:
