A friend and I were going to a local cruise night. He was behind me in his really nice 57 Chebbie. We were on a short portion of a parkway when a couple "kidz" in a honda civic pulled in between us and was a sheet of paper away from my rear bumber. Looking in the rear view mirror at the red civic with the white unpainted ground effect bumper, the driver and passenger sporting their white NY Yankees hats sideways with the stupid hologram sticker still affixed, I decided to get him side by side at the exit. :spank:

He rev's his over sized chain saw as I let my BBB idle. He jumps the light slightly and gets out 2 car lengths before he shifts to second. All I do is tell the wife "Hold On" and punch it. A little smoke from the tires and I am right past him - Till I hear the Turbo Spooling -Ahhh Sh#t- we are side by side. I hit second with a chirp he is popping third. Now my Buick is in her power band and pulling he is only 1/2 a car length out. We come to the spot where the road narrows to 1 lane and I got him. I could not believe he was with me for the whole race, but I got him. :3gears:

After the race my buddy and I got to the cruise night he says to me - "You have a lot of water coming out of your trunk". I am flabbergasted I know I have a small window leak but we are talking maybe 2-3 ounces. I flip the rear plate down and grab the gas cap, which I had not tightened all the way - well it wasn't water but about 5 gallons of 93 octane on the ground . . . oopppssss :Dou:

It was worth it to beat a ricer!!!!!!!!!

I love stories with a happy ending :). My freind an i were cruising along in his dad's black 03 mustang (V6), and we met up with a really nice 30s hot rod, red, completely restored and very fast. He was a very spirited driver too, and we were both pulling out at the same time, but he was MUCH quicker, so we saw the same thing happening behind his car that we did to yours. We tried to catch up, as he was stopping at a red, but he would beat us to the next light before we ever caught up. Eventually he had to slow down because of traffic, and we pulled up next to him and asked him to pull down his window, he kind of waved his hand at us, as if to say, i kno i know its nice :), but when he finally did we told him his gas cap was missing and he just spilled half his tank of gas :). Poor guy was so embarassed. Dont let it happen to you! Cheers.

Funny, it would have been all I could do to keep from strangling the bastard for riding so close to your bumper.

I take that as violating my personal space. :blast:

Good kill though. Whether his car is a 12 second car or a 19 second car, the important thing is that he comes out on the short end of the stick.

HA! I love it!! I cant stand those ricers. Or the crooked hats. Anyway NICE KILL! I own a pizza shop and had to do a delivery one day. I went out with my 72 Lark....stock mind you.....except for the motor its a stock GS350...........and on the way i pulled up to a black acura integra with a guy and his girl in it. he looked at me and started to run so i figured.....sure why not? I punched the gas and my 4 barrel opened up. i gave him a dose of 350 whoop ass he will not soon forget. I had him the whole way by 2 1/2 cars and he gave up after a minute. Then on the way back i hit up a saab 9.3 turbo. he rolled past me, spooled up, and let me hear his blow-off. No biggie......i gots me a buick 350. So i ran him too. I mutilated him by 5 cars if not more. Later when i was stopped at a light, he finally pulled up and the guy was like "dude what year is that"? I told him its a 72 and he about **** his pants with excitement. He was like "I think im gonna go get one so i dont get embarrassed like that again". Just thought I would share my proud moment of my very first run with my new baby. Luck was with me and gave me two races to handle for my first time. I really think the buick Gods like me. Anyway I hope to read more of all of your kill stories. I will be checking back on a regular basis.

P.S. The pizza stayed in the box perfectly without shifting. LOL :3gears: :TU:

I've noticed where most of the ricers with turbos like to go after the luxobarges because they think they have a good chance of winning.

Too bad you didn't punch it when he was behind you. He would have gotten a 93 octane shower.

I have to say this though. For 4 cylinders and a turbo I was impressed. The problem with them is the exhaust noise. They sound like Chicada bugs on crystal meth and red bull. And the hats with the flat brim on sideways - God!

But then again when I was 17 and was racing my chebbie against some old school guys they were probably saying the same crap about me in my parachute pants and capezios.

Tom - I will be up at the shop in mid November - I will call a week or so in advance to schedule the rockers. I won the assembly on ebay and bought new shafts from TX. So you can assemble them outside the car first like you wanted. Keep it going guys I love to see our tons of sheet metal beating these cars out there!!!! :3gears: :beer
