I have now added the latest Dealer Codes list to my website. It is approximately 200 pages of zones list by code. I do have more information that I am added but wanted to get this out there in its current form. http://www.buickgsx.net/Dealer Codes by Zone.pdf Mark
Thanks Mark ! It was alot of reading, but I found a dealer with my familys namesake ! Now to find a frame !
Are you still compiling it? I may have missed our Dealer, Covert Buick (Austin). They have been a Buick dealer continuously since 1909.
Eric, I am still trying to find more information on Zone 16. I did find an invoice that had a Zone 16 and the address was left blank. I believe that at least some of the Zone 16 zones were internal Buick codes used to move the cars to places like the design center and cars sold to Buick managment at the plant ect. Frank, I am always working on this list. If you see one you can add please send it to me and I will try to get it added. There were at least two zones for TX one in Dallas and one in Houston. I am not sure if you looked through both. I need to post a zone list at the beginning so everyone knows what the two digit zones are. Mark
Mark/Marco, I finally sent my info in to Marco for my red 70 Stage 1, and noticed the Dealer Name from Sloan differed from the dealer name in the PDF files that Mark has on his website. Sloan listed it as: Dealer Code: 04-208, Dealer Name: The Thurman Motor Company. Mark's info shows the Dealer Name for 04-208 to be The Thumma Motor Company. Was it The Thurman or Thumma Motor Company in Hagerstown, MD? Thanks!
I checked the orginal Buick document that I have and it shows Thumma Motor company. That is not to say that is was not a typo from Buick. If I find any addtional information I will let you know. The book I got my information from is a different book than Sloan uses. On my last trip to Sloan I got most of the information from their books but I have not been able to get it all processed yet. Mark
When I removed the clock out of the Cat I found a tag that said H.O. Wilen Motors, this led me to believe that it was originally sold there. Guess not. Mark, your list has proven otherwise. Guess I gotta do some more research. Great stuff, keep up the good work. :TU:
Henry White's Stage1 was also sold at 04-208, and he has a Buick dealership book from 1968. It's Thumma Motor Company, Inc. :beer :3gears:
Thanks Mark and Marco. :TU: I'm wanting to give the correct info to Mike Trom for my window sticker. Maybe Sloan just made a typo on my documentation.
