Hi David: I tried Emailing Al Faircloth a couple weeks back about his project, but he never got back to me. I have committed to him for a tank but am disappointed he has kept very little contact to the people on this board. what is the general consensus on waiting for him. do you think his is still a go. I hate to abandon him if he will come through. also has anybody given any thought to how we are going to keep these new tanks from yellowing or will the new process lessen the aging effect take care John Bowers:beer
Number one is to not put any fluid in the overflow bottle. If any does come over from the radiator, get it out without delay.
I believe that if you clear-coat the inside of the tanks it will not yellow. I have heard nothing about Alan's tanks. Try e-mailing Alan directly. Frank M has the finalized prototype in his hands and production will begin shortly on his reproduction overflow tanks :TU:
Hi Marco: I did Email Al directly,no reply, that is what has me concerned. I want to buy one of Franks if Al isn't going to come through Sincerely John Bowers
Sorry John, I don't know any more about Alan's project than you or anyone else. Last he posted about this, a couple months or so ago, he stated that his project was still underway, although it sounded like he was still quite a ways from having enough orders. I'm in the same boat as you, I also committed to a tank from Alan. But, I will likely order one of Frank's, then take a 2nd one if Alan gets his done eventually.
these are more than just overflow tanks, arent they a part of the cooling system allowing coolant to pass back and forth so as not to introduce air into the system during cooling by pulling liquid back into the raditor and not air? so how could you keep fluid out of them except to not connect them to the radiator?
Not really complaining, but.....I guess I am I too have sent Alan PM's through this board, I have sent emails directly to him as well. No reply yet. I have put my name in with Alan for my tank too. Sorry to just add nothing to this thread, but it would be nice to let us know what is happening with the project if we are suppose to hold up our end of the commitment to Alan. Troy
Just my opinion.......... But I think Alan's tank project is DEAD! uzzled:  Frank's looks great from what I have seen, being $30 less. I don't know why Alan would go thru now, and hopefully he has issued an order for the tooling. He hasn't answered anyone in Months.:af: I'd buy Frank's if my car was ready, and it looks like my car will be ready before Alan has them.ou: I'll make that decision when the time comes....
Sure David, I read that the 1st time too! And what does it say at the bottom? I've emailed him, still NO response...uzzled: Ok, maybe I wasn't ignored, he just hasn't gotten around to it yet. You know, two Months and counting...... :spank:
No one has mentioned the price on this thread. I could use a couple of them. I also thought they are part of the cooling system. Seems like keeping air out of the system would reduce oxidation.
Mike, Alan has not announced a final price, due to not having final order quantities to tell the mfgr. His last price mentioned was around $150. Frank McIntyre is also taking orders and has provided pics of his final prototype of a black top tank, with clear top tanks coming right behind. Frank's price is $149.
