Dave my dream car is not an Oldsmobile but a 49 Caddy conv. with a 500 Cu Caddy engine with Keith Black pistons and highly modified engine and suspension . Vintage Air, Power windows, locks ( with key fob) Power seat and radial tires with complete new disc brake front suspension. No short cuts in this Calif. Resto .
I had to give up a 66 442 tri power conv and 2 years of my son's law school tuition. What the Hay!! I am going to draw SS in Dec. Me and Dave H. Are you in???
Those pics do not do this car justice. When it quits raining he can take some outside. JA says it has a 76 Seville suspension. Someone spent a lot of time on this car from the frame up.
Buicklawyer, I see that I am going to have to make a trip to Carolina and visit you sometime. That car is so sweet that I am going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. My wife would even like that one. :bglasses:
Must say that's one gorgeous hunk of metal there buicklawyer. Beats law school tuition anyday. Word is your son had rather be fishing anyway...That thing got a trailer hitch? :3gears:
That really is gorgeous. My tastes are also changing away from the resto/Pure Stock/modified after all these years and love these type cars. Neighbor has a 40 Chev 4 door that he's redoing for the 3rd time (he pulled it out of a junkyard over 20 years ago. 396/375 BBC, Turbo 400, vintage air, rack and pinion, front discs, power windows, Ididit column, painless wiring, and just repainted in a gorgeous dark blue metallic clear cote. 2 1/2 inch exhaust, wheels and tires undecided at this point (has 15 x 8 and 15 x 10 Corvette rallyes on it now. Just took the seats (93 Tbird 6 ways) and door panels to the trim shop to be redone in grey leather/tweed inserts with embroidered bowties. There's something really neat about these old , classic looks, and new car comforts. He's moving to Tennesee next summer and plans to drive his year around as well as to Vegas, Reno, etc. with a bunch of fat fender/ street rod friends. Lots easier than racing them and wrenching on them like I've been doing, and based on recently, not much more expensive. I'm sure you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of this Caddy and quite possibly a much better investment. I can see a 1950 or 1957 88 convertible done up like this one in my dreams, too.
Dave this car is a lot of fun to drive with all the modern upgrades. Gets a lot of looks from the Old guys and gals. Here is my Cadillac garage.
