Crankshaft Pilot Bearing Issue

The original 4speed engine from my GS has the pilot hole too large for the bushing. It never was really tight just pushed in or pulled out. Well over time the bearing laid sloppy/loosely in the crank. I finally pulled the engine too repair it, and was going to swap in a spare engine. To my surprise the hole in this crank is too small and the machineing unfinished (coarse/rough).

Did GM only machine cranks for pilot bearings on cranks for stick shift cars?

Probably a crankkit from a AutoParts store wouldn't have the pilot machined machined correctly?

    Has anyone else seen this?

All BBB cranks were drilled for a pilot bearing that i have seen even if it was auto trans car.

    Thanks for the response.
    Carquest said the same thing.
Their machinist recommended downsize the OD for the spare engine.
Another Autoparts machinist recommended a special pilot bushing or a sleeve installed and use the stock.
Well I sanded down the OD with 80 grit until close then 150.
The bearing is tapped into the spare engine. I do not feel good about it.
I guessimated equal amounts from all around the OD.
I would have liked to use a lathe but close is going to have to work.
I want to have a sleeve installed on my original crank.
I hope it's close for my four speeds sake.

The engine in my car is from an auto car (Bad Brad only drives a stick). The crank hole from the auto car engine wasn't "clean" enough to take the bushing - had to be massaged first. Bummer!
