I'm not sure if I'm in the right place or not but here goes. I've been trying to get my car going again after it has set up for a while (About 7 years - OUCH!). I've cleaned out all the fuel lines tinking I would have fuel problems. Well, I'm not getting a spark at the coil wire. I've reset the points and still no spark. I also filed the points a little with some fine sandpaper. I finally gave up for the day. Anyone have any quick fixes or ideas. I should know this stuff as I was once a technician. It's just been so long since I've worked on anything. My patience is not what it used to be either.:af: Thanks in advance for your help.:TU:
It Runs!! Well, I worked on it a while today and I finally got it to run. I replaced the points and condensor. After I replaced them it still wouldn't start. o No: Then while I was checking for a ground with a test light, I opened the points with the test light. The only thing was I forgot to turn off the ignition.:eek2: After I got a little jolt, it started giving a spark.:TU: I guess my car wanted to get even for letting it set up for so long. Oh well, better get back to it. Talk to yall later. Hopefully will be up and running soon.:3gears:
