    Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Am rebuilding my 455 and need the crank washer.

This is the washer under the big bolt that gets torqued to 200 ft/lbs. It holds the dampner onto the crank.

Sent the bolt and washer to the shop for balancing and they lost the bolt and washer.

I have since found a new bolt, but no luck with the washer.

All the suppliers have a sbc & bbc washer, but not even close.

Does anyone know of a source? I would like to find it locally, but have exhausted most ideas.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone.

TA's will be used too and likely to be more expensive than the one I've offered. Last time I checked TA wasn't in the business of hookin' people up but if they can get one to you for less than $9 that would be the way to go.

The following message is in direct response to txgwildcat's remark about hooking up people and is in NO way a statement to deter the necessary sale and exchange of parts by individuals throughout the Buick Community.

    :spank: txgwildcat,
TA Performance has a policy of making as many parts available as possible, including the odd items that are currently only available used. Doing used parts as a company is similar to but a little more involved than doing it as an individual; we have to purchase the core engine, pay a person to remove the parts, clean them if necessary, sort them, label them, store them, provide tech assistance in some cases to determine which version is needed if multiple versions were used , package it, ship it and even stand by it if it is not correct or damaged (again paying someone to perform all of these tasks). The key difference is the cost of labor and associated insurances and benefits.

Ok, I am not saying that I want you to buy all of your stuff from TA, especially the used items. We, as a community must recycle as many of these parts as necessary, so if you have it sitting around, definately sell it or give it to someone who is in need of it. And when the effort needed, is only to dig it out of a box and throw it in an envelope then of course it will be a more economical transaction. But when those sources do not work out. TA PERFORMANCE WILL HOOK YOU UP.

    Washer

    Thanks to all who replied.

I have taken Kevin up on his offer for a washer.

I also thank everyone who responded with info and offers.

I think this is why this board is so great.

People constantly step forward with info about anything asked. And as I have been priviledged to see offers of items.

I also have purchased many parts from TA and greatly value their products and their willingness to provide information when asked. However, I do not think about them when looking for used items. Now I will.

Again thanks to all & have
    a Happy Buick New Year.

    Dave/Mike,
I'm flattered that you view me as the competition, Thanks! As far as your business philosophy goes I could care less what you think! :boring: Too bad our relationship is too strained to do business together, oh well I don't race so don't have a use for what the true scope of your business offers. You never did say how much your crank washers are, please post! At a dime a dozen I'll take $1.00 worth, who has that many?
