Thanks for all the comments! When Tom told me he wanted to take my picture with the corvette I told him I had to be a girl and go primp a little b/c I had helmet hair. Haven't actually seen the magazine yet, can't wait! See you all next year! :3gears:
Welcome to the board!!! Welcome to our little place to play away from the track! Now beside's fighting over the car, you guy's will be arguing over who's turn it is to watch the kid's, while the other is on the computer
TOM, Not in our house, she KNOWS that I am the BOSS. Oh wait a minute she can read this,I guess no more home cooked meals   !
First off ----- CONGRATS to Julie !!!! :beer I think that it's kinda cool how the PS and FAST cars have not only become near-n-dear to us, but also infiltrated our kin-folk. Some examples that come to mind: Obviously Terry's wife, Julie: L88 Corvette Tim Clary's wife, Rhonda: '69 Olds Cutlass 350/310 COPO Pete's son, Eric: Monte SS Jim Maher's son is doing a BB Nova Dave H's grandson: '68 RamRod Olds Tom Miller and his dad: Car is dependant on time of year and selling opportunities ..... My more-than-better half has a car in mind to race. But dang if it's not a Ford .......... One of my customers has a legit supercharged Stude that I'm trying to talk her into. :TU: Either the Stude or a Maxie would be on my "honey-look-what-i-bought-you" list. :bglasses: And she doesn't care for my '69 or '70 Darts either ..... picky, picky, picky.
Hey, what's the deal on the Studebaker, Casey???? Ya' holdin' out on us? [Corvette Enthusiast Cover does look nice; congrats to all.] BP
Besides my young son Justin building a BB '69 Nova for this series, My oldest son Eric has been running his '68 Z28 for approx. 3 years. Now if I could just get my Daughter Keri out there it would be the whole dang family.
Sweet cover! :TU: From the Jerry video, some great driving too......at least on the one pass with sideways action. :3gears: I wonder what the core wine and cheese, numbers matching, date coded, wish I could drive my Vette but the fiberglass might crack boys think about this cover.
my thread on it went nowhere fast, but the thread about the guy with the 55 bubbletop was a very hot topic.
I say we assemble all the "glass" participants from stanton at the next big party they have in Bloomington and do "louisiana style" burnouts up and down the aisles.I'm sure Julie can do a full pass smokie leavin it in D!
you up for it Donny? Make 'em really crazy.........let 'em hear every shift with your right foot encroaching on the oil pan! waddaya think?
how about a Corvette Museum Cruise where they will actually let us race ?? http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=1532802 but I would be interested in the Bloomington thing.........
cruise smuise! You really think that gang could put on a drag race? The bloomington thing would definitely be a killer "shock and awe" campaign dontcha think?
I bought an issue of the "Fiberglass Chevies" tonight to get the articles and photos of Julie. Terry's done an awesome job on the car, and Julies proven she can run with anybody. In the same issue Tom Shaw did a write up of the race at Stanton, And while it was oriented toward the Plastic Fantastics, it was fair to everybody else. More coverage of the event. If this keeps up you'd better pre-register for Stanton next year or plan on watching from the stands. Congrats to everybody involved with the Pennington ride. Also noticed the emphasis on keeping things stock in the Shaw article. In response to the moral dillema issue, the strictly stock rules seem to work. No need to change that. Almost seems as though the legal cars are quicker than the questionable ones, interesting. Can't wait for the next issue of MCE. :beer :3gears:
And creating a nuisance Not suprised. My brother took his '65 to the Year One bash. The other Vette folks started talking to him and including him in the Vette clump. Until they found out he was racing it....... and they all moved away on the group V bench.
There are some funny guys in the Corvette world..... I love telling the story about the first time I met Jim Karam, he was looking my car over and asked if anyone gave me poop about the big block hood. I told him "yeah, sometime" so he asked me what I said when they did... I replied "I tell them to go < censored word that rhymes with duck > themselves" next time I saw Jim he was all excited over the big block hood he had just put on his car :TU: for the most part, my over pimping of the event has been well received by the Vette guys, and about a dozen showed up as spectators at Stanton and Martin last year.
