For some reason my courtesy lights quit working. I checked all fuses but they all looked OK. Can anyone tell me what fuse this group should be in. Just seems odd they all quit working at the same time.

    Any ideas???

    Steve,
Left side facing the fuse block, second position(clock, lighter, courtesy). You are talking about the interior lights under the dash and on the sail panels, right?

Yes, the lights that are not working are the underdash lights and the two lights are the armrest (convertible). I am not sure but I may have lost the 2 lights in the temperature controll also.

I checked the fuse and it looked fine but when I moved it the lights came on. Kinda wierd but I changed the fuse and seems to be working fine.

courtesy lamps are generally one of the simplest circuits in an old car.
power goes through the fuse first. so remove the fuse and use a DVM or test light and see if one of the fuse terminals has voltage present. if both terminals are dead, and if the only items in the car not working are the interior lights and maybe the cig lighter, the problem is most likely a broken (or burned in-two) terminal connection on the back side of the fuse block. these suck to try and fix. if this is your problem E-mail me for remedies and more info if needed.

BUT... lets say you DO have voltage to one of the fuse terminals. then the problem is more down stream. replace the fuse and remove the interior light bulb that is closest to the fuse block. test each terminal for voltage. one should show 12 volts. (if neither do, you probably have a broken wire somewhere between the this light and the fuse block.) once you find the one with 12 volts, the other terminal should test less than1.5 ohms (when tested to ground with a DVM) when a front door is open or when the interior light is turned on .... try it with each door.

let me know what you find.

Thanks for the help. I figured out my problem a bad fuse. It must have had a hair line break in it cuz it looked fine but no luck.

I have a problem described on Generator light post. Any idea there.

    fuses

another problem that crops up is that the contact surfaces of the fuse & and its conntact points on the fuse block have oxidized and need to have the metal surfaces cleaned before re-installing any fuse.
