What is the correct sheen for a black consolette? Mine is painted with more of a flat black but I think it should have more sheen to it.
Sooo, no one has a black consolette?o No: How about you, Mr. Lore? How glossy is yours on the GSX?:TU:
Todd this is kind of like asking a person how bright was it outside today. I have an original one not installed. I cannot be sure how it has changed over time. I will try to look at it tomorrow.
 Thanks Jim. Mine was repainted when I bought it and it looks to be too flat. I looked at the pic of your X but it's hard to tell by a picture.
Todd there is are clues in the parts manual. For the upper part on the black consolette it says black "paint to match". If you look at Group 4.015 for 4 speeds when it comes to colors is includes med, red , dk. blue etc. If you look at the base of the 64-65 car floor shift trim bezels under the same number we get more insight. It says "natural color paint to match trim." I think if you go to www.autocolorlibrary.com there may be paint code numbers for dk blue etc. in the interior trim. Maybe we might interpret this info differently but I think a good reconciliation of this information is to use the same formula as the lower dash etc. Just one person's view.
http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1970-buick-pg02.jpg Ditzler 9266 semi gloss. How do you read it? If you cannot clear up the confusion at learst make the confusion clear.
OK I actually found the color sheet from the website. Not sure how legible it is but here it is It says semi-gloss for dash, glovebox, consolette etc..
Mine was quite faded but I painted it with semi-gloss rustoleum--looks better then it did before. Pete
