Converting a 70 passenger side sport mirror to remote; anybody done this?

Yup the housings are different sizes for what ever reason. All of the mirror sets I’ve come across are this way. That picture above is a set from year 74 and I think the pictures exaggerates the differences. The early housing are the same way except the passenger side is about 3/16 inches narrower. Here’s a side be side of a late 71 set.

Can someone with the door panels removed verify that the door structure is the same left and right? I wasn’t sure if we would have to cut away any metal to add clearance for the remote toggle which I think should be mounted in the same position as the drivers side.
