So resewing the trim on my convertible top is on my short list of items to do. Looking over the top to get ready to start sewing, I notice the bottom of the original glass window is not attached. I'm assuming it's supposed to be glued in place? What kind of glue should I use to reattach it?

From what I remember, the back window is attached to the inner curtain and not the outer one. This is that the window can move. The inner curtain sometimes has a zipper on the topside so one can zip the window out flat. Now if your back window is beginning to separate from the lower part of the inner curtain, then it won't seal and it will leak. Is it fixable? I don't know; - you have to be careful and know what you're doing otherwise the window won't fold into the top properly and shatter, -ask me how I know.

The glass rear windows are "heat-sealed" to the vinyl not glued.

If you want to fix this you need to replace the rear window along with the material surrounding it. Now you need to worry about matching the color to the rest of the top.

If you need to do this, and sew the edging back on the top edges, you are probably looking to buy an entire new top at this point.

Doh! Not what I wanted to hear. Well, I still think I'll try to glue it. Worst comes to worst, I need a new top anyway.

ive tried to reglue glass back to the rear curtain with zero success.
replacing the rear curtain is probably gonna be your next step.

    not too fun.

does your car have functional arms in place that pull the glass into the trunk when the top goes down?
