going to replace the rear springs, i really don't want the harsh ride of cargo coils, but i do want the car up maybe an inch more than stock. will convertible rear springs sit any higher?? this is on a 71 skylark. i just put on 295/65r15 drag radials and they rub the top of the wheel well on big bumps. thanks, dave

As far as I know, convertible springs are the same as coupe springs. I think you'll need to go to air shocks to raise it up and not use cargo coils.

i just figured convertibles were heavier so maybe the springs were a little stiffer. i guess i will have to get the cargo coils. i don't like air shocks. thanks, dave

I'd go with stock springs and install Air Lift air bags . Won't kill the ride and it only takes a little air to clear the fenders . The shocks will still act as shocks and everything is good . Cargo's are designed to "hold" the hieght when you load the trunk or back seat up .

Air lift and stock springs .... :Brow: :3gears: :TU:

    Good Choice~

Dave be sure to run the air lines separate . When racing you will want to put more air in the right side to help keep it level . :Brow:

Plus read the instructions , install the heat shields on the pipes near the new bags .

You will be a happy guy ... :3gears: :TU:

    My pleasure Dave :Brow:

I just replaced all 4 springs, with the rear being cargo (MOOG CC501). The car sits level...
