I was wondering if any one knew if there wre any structural differences in a convertible frame vs a hardtop frame. Also which car weighs more. Ive got a 68 skylark convert.

Depends on the year. Some year hardtops were built with convert frames. In general converts weigh more the hardtops.

I had thought all the "A" body convertibles were reinforced hence meaning heavier.Did all the convertibles come with boxed frames?

    Frames

On the c body{1970 electra] cars the frame is boxed on the ragtops and not on the hardtops. I am replacing the frame on my convertible and I will be welding some u channel into the open frame to box it. Tom
