Maybe a dumb question, maybe not. Wondering about my 68GS400 4spd with bench seat. Anybody know whether the factory offered the shorty console with that? You know, the one that mounts on the hump with the shifter coming out and a tach in it up under the dash. Seems to me like it would fit okay. The back part sits almost flush to the floor and probably wouldn't go underneath the front seat very much if at all. I actually bought one of these a while back but am not sure if it would be correct in there even if it fits.
Al, thanks for the quick reply. Are there other 68 bench seat 4spds out there to verify against? Somebody told me that was an ordering mistake too and the 4spds were supposed to have bucket seats. I was kind of hoping for a "they'd do whatever you ordered" kind of answer. Where else do people mount their tachs on the 68-69s? Steering column obscures the speedometer although down on the floor is certainly not ideal either when you want to keep your eyes on the road. For that, I like the hood mounted tachs on the 70-72s the best. Obviously that's not an option in this case.
4-Speed Mike, 4-Speed came with bench or bucket style seats. The tachometer option could only be ordered with the bucket seat option for 68-69. :Smarty: AL.
