console wiring harness 69 GS

I originally had column shift but it was converted to console before I bought the car in the mid 80s.

So I am finally reinstalling my console and shifter. I have the harness that lights the console but I need the harness that comes from the dash harness which powers the harness that lights the console. This harness also plugs into the neutral safety switch on the shifter. Can I tap into the dash harness somehow on an original column car to work all the console and shifter stuff?

Ken I think I have one I was saving for a console I was going to sell. I will look and get back to you either way. I know it has the three plugs one for console lights, one for nutral safety and one for back up lights. Not sure how much wire but I think abut 3 feet. Thanks Bill.

Thanks Bill. That must be it, but let me confirm by looking at my parts diagram when I get home later. Also, the end that was cut, where did that go to? That's gonna be another mystery for me to solve. :ball:

The Assy manual shows it as part of the Instrment Panel Wiring Harness part # 6295438. I tried to take a picture of it, but you could not read it. It's not pigtailed in, but an extension of the harness itself.

    Hey Rich.

Wow, that means I'd have to figure out where to graft it in. This could be a real character builder.

Ken that is what I thought it is part of the complete harness not a plug in. It should be easy to splice from the existing N safety switch to the pig tail I have. Two large purple wiires are the starter safety. Yellow and green are the back up lights.

There are three for the console lights, the gray go to the shifter dent, there are two small lamps. The whit and orange go to the interior light in the rear of the console. I am not sure where you pick up these but should not be to hard. Thanks Bill.

    Hey Bill,

    Got the harness. Thanks!

I don't see a yellow wire on this harness, unless I'm missing it. Do you mean Pink and green?
