If you want it to look stock and want it durable --epoxy.

If you need it dipped to get to bad areas inside the frame rails then powder coating might be best.

Depends what you are after exactly. I had mine powdercoated, the stuff is strong and looks great. On a boxed frame its the way to go, because of how it is applied it coats the frame inside and out, is chemical resistant, easy to clean (if you want you can get teflon in some, even stickers fall off) and is not expensive. Detail is very good. You can't do spot repair type stuff though so if you aren't doing the whole frame (you really didn't say) then paint might be better. Nothing worse than a painted frame and you can see rust though the holes in the outer rail.

As for strength, when friend did his 67 chevelle frame (two years before I did mine) he had a 1/4 thick bar in with his parts to do..when we got it back, we beat it and bent it back and forth and the stuff held until the metal itself cracked..even then it didn't peel. he drives hard an a lot and has no chips yet. I had no issues with holes either, some say bolts won't fit, etc, but I had no issues at all.

Just another option, not nearly as expensive as some think.

The main reason to do all of this work on the frame is to make it look good and keep it looking good. I have had this car since 1985. So far the prices that I have found here in Tulsa is 600 to blast and powder coat the frame, front control arms, and the rear arms and houseing. Is that a normal price or? Since we only have one place to try not very many options. The car will get minor body work done this time. Most of the work is in the frame and chassis. The good 455 from my blue 72 will be transplanted for motorvation!
Lots of work but it keeps me out of the bars.
    Thanks

Actually that seems a bit steep, but hard to tell since I blasted my own frame (100.00 Can by the time I was done). Paid 400.00 to have my frame, front upper and lower controls arms (to be used on a different car), rear control arms (upper and lower two sets), crossmember, front and rear swaybars, heater box, engine pulleys (total of four), front and rear bumper brackets, chassis braces, and ragtop main attach fittings plus a few odds and ends (front fender supports, etc).

Don't forget my frame was boxed so takes some extra material and work too...

at this time it looks like the por15 is the way to go for me . Went back to talk to the powder coating shop the the new manager was very rude and did not even want to talk about doing my frame. He said bring it if you want it done and walked away! So unless I find someone else its time to break out the paint gun!
