I did a compression test on the `65 GS which is 100% stock and all cylinders read about 150-160 and then out of curiosity i did one on my `67 GS which is worked and that read about 190-200,my question is can that verify about how much compression i have on the `67?does anyone have an idea with that reading about how much compression i have?

    Thanks

I can't verify, but both sets of numbers are very good! 200psi! Sheesh.....you got 11 to 1s in there?

There is a web site : http://www.smokemup.com That has all sorts of calculators for that sort of stuff. Although, I think compression has a little more to it than just your cylinder pressure:Do No: :Do No:

BTW... I have 12:1 pistons (supposedly OEM Stg. 2's), and pull 185-190psi too, yet have no problems running any grade gas. some say you can't run over 11:1 on pump gas. So its anybodys guess.

    HTH... I'll be watching too.

Sorry George, its hopeless to guess. Cam timing GREATLY affects the test. But those are VERY GOOD #'s, and you can rest assured that its "fairly high".:Brow:

Did you ever put the SP-1 on?

Yea i kinda figured it would be high but i understand that you cannot really figure out about how much compression i was just trying to figure around what i might have, thanks for all your replies guys, and i havent put the SP-1 in yet should be soon though.

    Thanks
