got the 350 up on a stand, bolted up the flex plate and starter. rigged up a battery and ran a compression test. Here's the numbers...

    1 - 155
    2 - 170
    3 - 140
    4 - 190
    5 - 140
    6 - 160
    7 - 198 +/-
    8 - 195

This is cold, engine has not been in a vehicle in years. New Craftsman guage (Don't know if it's correct) I was told its a 72' block, block #1382201 with #B1233472 Head castings. 4 Barrel intake with no carb on it.

The highs seem to high, the lows aren't to bad...but the spread sucks. anyone seen a distribution like this before? And what is a normal range for this engine? Thanks, Bill
