For 1970 BBB - what is the correct shade of black for the water pump and crankshaft pulleys? Gloss, Satin, Chassis, ????

I looked at the thread on front end colors and did not see this.

Heater box on Non AC cars was gloss black too. Really noticeable on firewall which was pretty flat. It was installed after firewall was painted.

What shade of black was the air cleaner painted? I thought it was satin black?

It’s pretty much GM wide that air cleaners were gloss. I’m restoring a 72 w30 now and same thing. Metal parts of air cleaner are gloss.

This is my go to picture from a 70 magazine article. You can see gloss air cleaner and gloss heater box against flatter firewall. Fender wells appear semi gloss.

They were gloss, my 72 stage-1 air cleaner has not been restored and date stamp in the housing.

Original 1970 stamped air cleaner I have is very glossy under GM decal on side. Chrome air cleaner covers on a Stage were out there later by someone

Was the radiator in a 1970 painted satin as well, or gloss?

Max Damage I'm working on it!

1968 GS's all had chrome lids without decals as far as I can tell.
