    Hi Scott -

JJ is Burnished Saddle, both upper and lower body color (painted roof)

Can you please post the dealer name/number/address?

    Thanks!

I think J was the sales code for burnished saddle so I presume that was the color exterior with a vinyl top the same.

    Jim -

The Buick codes (Sloan) for painted colors are alphabetic and the codes for vinyl tops are numeric. For example, my Sloan documentation states MM2.

Now Fisher bidy used numeric characters for painted colors and alphabetic characters for vinyl tops. My cowl is 48 B.

    Confused yet? :Dou:

Marco I see you posted ahead. What would be the code if the top was tan and the body was burnised saddle. Also I presume his cowl tag should have a paint code of 68?

Yes, the cowl would state 68 68.

With a vinyl top for this car, Sloan or Wayne would have a JJ8, with the 8 being dark brown.

    Buick Codes----------Fisher Codes
    1 - white------------------A
    2 - black------------------B
    7 - dark gold--------------H
    8 - dark brown------------F
    9 - dark green------------G

This information is contained in the 1970 assembly manual.

Yes Scott. I received your e-mail and responded.

Both Sloan (JJ) and your cowl (68 68) state your GS is Burnished Saddle originally.

If it's any other color, someone did some 'handy work'.

    Thanks for the dealer code!

what do you do with the dealer code? also on the order sheet i did not see a rear wing listed and mine does appear stock i just want to know whats stock and how do i know if my car had stripes from the factory

Only GSXs got stripes and a spoiler in 1970. The spoiler may appear like a stock spoiler, but the factory didn't put it there.

I send the dealer codes to Mark Macroubrie (OK, OK I post the codes on this board for him to get) and he lists all the codes we currently have on his GSX Registry website Here.
