I have a stock '71 GS w/350. I have what I like to call a slight hiccup at idle, when slowly reving my engine in neutral and when cruising at a contant speed. All cylinders appear to be firing and the car accelerates smoothly. What is the most likely cause of this. I have a stock points dist. and coil. The points, cond., rotor and plugs are new. Coil, cap, and wires have been on the car for awhile, but have less than 1000mi. on them. Could this be a coil problem? What about a worn shaft or cam in the dist.? I know ignitionman recommends the NAPA IN12 coil. Could I use this with the stock points system or can it only be used with a 12v system? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
