    Hi,

was wondering what clutch set-up I should be ordering, to get the right combo

I am looking at running a 3 speed setup (pedals and linkage originally for a 300) with a 65 m-20 Muncie

I was thinking a 67 GS 400 should be the same??

has anyone out there done this conversion, any pit falls to look out for?

    Thanks for any info,

    Hey,

Sounds like your on the right track. The Z-bar is going to need to be changed out for a BBB version. I think Garrison can help with a new repo. The '67 started to do some change over for the 68-72 models, but I don't think the clutch set-up was part of that.

As for the clutch & P. plate, this will depend on the intended use of the car. If it is just a mild street/strip car, then look at the RAM stock replacement, about $175 for everthing. If it is a drag car, talk to Hayes or Zoom reps to get the exact application you need based on weight, useage, and clutch type (finger, Borg & beck) & rear gearing.

Also, the flywheel is specific. The BBB (400-430-455) is different than the 350 or the 300-340. Talk to Mike T @ T/A Performance. His billet flywheel is awesome. Been running mine for the last 7 years with no problems.

By the way, NAPA & Checker list a "flywheel" for the BBB. Don't bother, it is actually a auto-flexplate.
