This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

How does the chrome trim around the back of the top (that the boot slides under) come off on a '72 Skylark?

    Thanks,
    Eric

Pinch weld, There should be a small sheet metal type screw on the ends and then some clips. I only had a few clips. Anyone know how many there supposed to be ? Lower your top to the position that allows you the best access.
Oh and thankfully its SS, but you can polish it up like chrome !

You got to open the top and get a mirror in there and you will find 5 screws that hold the trim to the pinch weld ..you will need a stubby hex screw driver dont expect to just have them screw out they will surly be rusted to hell and the heads will be stripped 9 out of 10 times you will be in there with a grinder shaving off the hex head ...good luck!
