How does the chrome trim around the back of the top (that the boot slides under) come off on a '72 Skylark? Thanks, Eric
Pinch weld, There should be a small sheet metal type screw on the ends and then some clips. I only had a few clips. Anyone know how many there supposed to be ? Lower your top to the position that allows you the best access. Oh and thankfully its SS, but you can polish it up like chrome ! DL
You got to open the top and get a mirror in there and you will find 5 screws that hold the trim to the pinch weld ..you will need a stubby hex screw driver dont expect to just have them screw out they will surly be rusted to hell and the heads will be stripped 9 out of 10 times you will be in there with a grinder shaving off the hex head ...good luck!
