chop the top?

    i have a 72 skylark cus. hrd top....is it worth getting it chopped and making it a conv......would i run into probloms later
    ??????/
    does anyone know anyone that has done that/is it possible?

    The frame is not set up for this modification. The top is needed for the overall structural rigidity of the car. Also it is cheaper to sell your car and buy a convertible.

    you will run into problems. A guy I went to highs chool with tried it with his olds. Started to sag immediately. He then welded the doors shut. welds broke eventually.

    If you boxed the frame like a convertible frame I think you'd be OK.
    But as mentioned... may be cheaper in the end to find a convertible body. You could have a working top then too :puzzled:
