Well, I am sitting at a light last night when this guy pulls up next to me in this Nissan or Toyo truck. The light goes green and I am just taking off like I normally do when I hear the truck next to me gas it. I look over and the guy is looking at me like we are racing or something. I have it at about half throttle and you can tell this guy is all into the gas. Finally he gets even to my front bumper and I stomp into it. The old chevy down shifts and bye bye baby!! People in ricers just don't learn. They can't mess with the power of GM.
The ricers are pathetically slow, 90% of the time.MY 4500 lb Z-71(w/ almost 140K) has taken several. My only regret was the gas I wasted doing it:gt: My 16v valve was pretty comfortable about taking turbo eclipses before it started loosing compresion(it has a HARD 120k on the clock). Just the other night a my friend Gale (GN guy) bought a an 87 Chevy Astro w/ 4.3 for driver. I had done some work to it(wiring). and was taking it back to his house with him following in his Town Car. On the way, a Honda minus hubcaps(and now dignity)with a fart pipe and a honda engines sticker in the side windows, comes buzzing up along side of me. I punch it and antagonize(sp?) him. He followed me down a four lane and pulled aside me. This time he got on it hard. I floored it, yanked coumn shifter down to first as if I were flushing a turd from a toilet. Pulled a VAN length from him and let off. Then i witnessed the typical looser flyby. this guy just got waxed by a 130K mile astro conversion van:jd: what a joke. Gale and I were roll'n. Come to think of it this is the second time I have raced and beaten an import with one of gales cars. the last was with his 82 Cadillac hearse(vearses old subaru). It was even slower.
It's a '97 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab w/ 5.7L V8. All it has is mufflers, cherrybombs at that, and a K&N airfilter. Not hopped up by any means. And I am running 31x10.50 BFG All-Terrain TA's. And I have about 106k on it.
Mine has true duals w/ short H-pipe(o2 in H) w/ (2) 2 chamber flowmasters in front of the axle on pass side. tail pips to the bumper. stage 2 chip(installs under original), k&n 14x4 mounted on TBI throttle body. havn't installed my adj fuel reg yet. picked it up quit a bit along time ago. Your ahead of me w/ vortec heads to start with(about 40 horse)
Sounds good Rob. Mine came from the factory with true duals. I am hoping to add some headers and some kind of turbo mufflers as soon as I can come up with some extra cash.
Yo Hey all, I just signed in here for the first time and i look forward to posting. I was never really interested in Buicks until i got to ride in my uncle's Nailhead powerhouse. A little bit about myself: I am 15 years old, and I'm the youger bro of Johnny (66BulldogGS). I think muscle cars are the greatest thing to happen to the US, i like Dodge Chargers, Chevy Camaros, Corvette Stingrays, Novas, and, of course, Buick GSs. I was with my bro in his truck when he smoked that ricer, so i can vouch for him. His truck is pretty fast, and i can't wait for him to get headers, make it louder and give it a little more "umph".
