Not a racing story, a stupid boy one. Took the mom's cherokee offroading today at the designated teengage offroading area. Im having some fun and i blow through a puddle and i hear the engine take a gulp of water. Engine lite starts blinking like mad and it wont go over 2,000rpms. I turned the key off as quick as i could and rolled back down the hill. I waited a while and tried to turn her over...nottin. So i called my friend Josh with his CHevy truck and had him pull my out of a muddy ravine and all the way out. As we come pulling out into the clearing by dixie highway a truck drives by honking at us (probaly another chevy). We are sitting there letting the engine dry out and this lady pulls into this dirt area and sits on her phone then leaves. I know exactly what she did. sure enough 15min later Oakland COunty Sheriff pulls up. I was in my car and he starts talking to my friend. "whats going on" "my friends car broke down" "You two okay" "yah" "where u guys offroading" My friend just sat there with a blank stare on his face" I walked up and the officer informed us that it was a 500 dollar find if we had been back there and a good thing we werent(love cool cops) but secondly who has the time to call on some kids, what a kill joy, and the hood it open like i dont have enough problems, lets ruin this kids day more by being a nark. Well we let it sit for the longest time give the BIA a mouthfull of choke cleaner and turn her over a million times and she starts, a little rough but evens out after 15 minutes. Its fine now but my friends been bousting all day long. But hell the Jeeps is fine and washed shes none the wiser. I drive a chevy truck for the winter so i can share in my friends pride. Just another stupid boy story, more to come by then end of the summer lol

One of my buddies jeeps did that once as well... I don't know why... I never had a problem in the chevies... must be were certain things are placed?
His jeep ran perfect after sitting for a day, so apparently something got wet that shouldn't have...

itsa ll thouse stupid electronics, i figured out that water had gotten under my distributator cap. Whent to autozone to get my error messages checked, misfiring on all #'s 1,2,3,4,5,6. Pretty good for a straigh six. ANd the crankshaft sensor was shorting. Now why the heck wouldnt you water proof thouse things? My friend and i both agreed what we like about our chevies and my buick is that if there is anythign wrong u can always see it. The guy at Autozone was kinda funny cause when he had my dad pop the hood they guy goes thats why (pointing at my mud soaked compartment) After checking the engine codes the guy looked at me and goes Keep it up with the offroading.
