As i was leaving Autozone today, i saw this beautiful orange 69-71ish Charger R/T, go the other way. I quickly flip a u and chase after him to get a better look. I get next to give and see the 440 badges on the hood (not sure if that's stock) and gave the guys a thumbs up. We were pacing each other and I was in second gear slowly getting faster and faster. It seemed like he finally went full throttle (couldn't tell cause my exhaust was the only thing i could hear) so I followed suit and surprisingly i started pulling on him. If he was actually in it, there's no doubt that i would've passed him once i got to third. But, of course, before i could find out if he was really playing i had to slow down as I was quickly coming up behind a car. After that we just drove next to each other and he shouted something to the effect of "it did really well for being so big". LOL. No one ever takes me seriously in the Riv...too classy i guess. Oh well, it was nice to see such an awesome car driving around.

Have you ever had your riv at the track or on a dyno? just curious because I am working on a 72 GS riv myself.

Unfortunately, no. I'd love to go to a track, but driving two hours to get to one keeps me from going. I was thinking of going to a dyno, but there's so much other stuff I need and would rather spend my money on.

finally a new story. lol. It must be nice to still be driving you car around this time of year. my car has been put away since late october and I still have another 3-4 months before I can get back out. winter sucks.

Great story! What kind of muffler do you have on your Riv?

Yup, I drive it no matter what the weather is. It does suprisingly well in the snow too.

The mufflers are a glasspack of some sort. Never really looked at the name on them. They came with the car and will be getting changed out at some point for something a little less noisy at idle.

Not bad for having about 800lbs on the Charger.

I was surprised too, actually. I wish the guy had lined up with me so we could've gotten a run in. Oh well, maybe next time.
