    Hi,

    i have a 1999 chevy 3500 with a 6.5 diesel.
i oredered a new injection pump.
i never installed one before, and was just wondering if anyone here has?
just wanted to know about timing it?
i was told it has to be timed. i really need to get it back together.
i didn't remove the old pump yet,but wanna work on it tommorrow.

    thanks Michael

    yup

I sell about 20-25 of these pumps a month, new and rebuilt in my lab...

easy to R&R but takes some time..

easier to esplain on the phone

    injector pump

    Hi Jim,

i ordered one from the dealer.
the parts manager is a friend, and he said he would give me a good price.
    i was in a rush.
    truck wouldn't start.
i changed the pmd,and it still didn't start.
so,i checked the lift pump, fuel solinoid, and everything seemed to work, disconnected ,an injector line, and nothing came out as i cranked it.
i was told that they have to be timed, i thought i had a book on the 6.5 but can't find it, the new pump will be in tommorrow, and i really wanted to get it back together. have it most of the way apart.
    i'll call you, thanks Michael

you need the GM Tech II box to verify engine timing

Here in Canada those puppys have an 11 year warranty from GM up to (I believe 192000kms)... Is that not the case in the U.S??
