Centerfugal timing

    I was just looking through my MDS instructionns and saw that you can lock out the centerfugal timing on there distributor. What would this do, or benifit?

    Running straight timing will give you the best idle and vacuum, and the least variation in timing. It will in most cases be difficult to crank when hot, so a start retard would be necessary. You can damage a starter if the engine kicks back.
