One of my favorite things are finding cat prints on my Buicks!! Someone needed to get into the shop yesterday I suppose to get water for the horses; they left the door open. Well one of the barn cats got trapped in the shop after the door was shut. The shop floor is gravel (soon to be concrete) and the cat attempted to dig its way out under the sliding door. The cat obviously took a break and perched it's self right on top of the 70 Skylark. Cat prints, mud, small rocks.... yep ... just what I wanted to see at 9:30pm at night...:blast:.... I'm getting chest pain just thinking about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
True about the mice.... they really suck!!! The cats do keep the mouse population at bay... guess I need to make sure the people population know how to shut a door..:spank:
I'm afraid to use a cover on my cars because the shop is not airtight (budget issues). There is a lot of dust and dirt from wind and such. I'm afraid that the cover would constantly rub and cause worse damage.. I will have a cement floor soon.. I will probably button up the inside better when the wallet is in better shape.. priorities are not always kind to carcrafting.. everything comes with time........:3gears:
I like cats if they stay outside and catch the mice! Hopefully any scratches u have will buff out. :TU:
my dog loves cats....they taste great.never see any inside the fence of our yard.they skirt around our place.
Unfortunately, barn cats are a neccesary evil. They serve a valuable function. I would be more upset with whoever left the door open in the first place. I think everyone has had that happen at least once. Myself included. A nice tight fitting Covercraft cover would be fine. I dont think anything would happen as far as chaffing. Theyre made for outdoor use right? I take a bungee cord and side the sides together through ther little eyelets in the cover. I even take moving blankets and put them over the cover for further insulation against cat claws. I once locked the barn cat in Jen's 73 Mustang for like 18 hours. I closed the door and didnt even realize the cat had slipped into the car. I even covered the car after I locked the door. We couldnt find the cart anywhere. I took the cover off and there she was staring out the side window! She had used the floormat as a litter box. She was such a good little cat.

I had cat problems in my car sheds. The cats loved to go under the walls and get in the sheds and sit on the only car that has $10,000 paint job. I was forced to use a car cover. I have the same issues with not being are tight. I have not had any scratches yet and I started doing the cover this summer and maid it through the windy season just fine. I too thought this was about Wildcats not wild cats.
I will look into covers... I hope someday to be able to build a climate controlled storage/shop that I do not have to share with the farm... maybe I will bulldoze the rental house next door and build a nice shop there.. the site would have sewer, electric and heat (from the outside wood stove that also feeds my house) already there...then the wife could bring me dinner right across the lawn while I'm working on the Buicks right after she moves the two foot of snow from the driveway... :TU:... ok yea I'm dreaming a little
And she better address you as Sir and only talk when spoken to. You ware the pants in the family she just tells you witch pair you can ware.
X2! I put up with them because of the wife and my daughter, and they help with mice, especially around the barn but I hate cats. Every now and then my wife thinks she needs to let one in the house. That usually ends up with me waking up to one on the bed walking across me, which usually ends up with a flying cat and if I can catch it after that it's a cat back out into the cold.
The worst is they live so long! Why cant my dogs live to be 20 years old. Girlfriend has a cat that is around 16 and it doesnt seem to be near the end.:af: No matter what I promise my 2 Pit Bulls they will not take care of the cat. They just chase it for fun but will not go any further.o No:
Have you tried tying bacon around its neck? :Brow: I had a friend in high school who spent an entire summer and all of his money repainting his Vista Cruiser a lovely shade of black. The very day it was finished, he drove it to his brother's house to show off. Before he was even able to park the car, out of the house bounds his brother's Black Lab to greet us. The dog got up on his hind legs and repeatedly ran his front claws down the side of the car. The sound was worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. My friend threw the car in park, ran after the poor hound, and firmly planted a boot into his ribcage. I felt so sorry for the dog; he didn't know any better. At the same time, I felt so sorry for my friend.
