Can I lower it 2 inches?

Sooooo Buick hounds! I am looking for a nice street stance. I do not want to spend the coin for air bags or the likes. So, lowering springs are on the menu. My ride has 49,000 miles so probably the same springs. I am afraid that a 1 inch drop may just leave it as is, or a 2 inch drop will leave bumper/chassis residue all over the street. Any thoughts or recommendations?

You can cut the front coils. Just use something like a Rotozip which cuts it fast without generating much heat. I would do a half coil at a time max. I did mine and I believe 1 ful coil will drop the car @1.5".

For the rear you will have to get drop coils as you can't just cut them.

    daward Measure twice, cut once.

I put Hotckis lowering springs on my '66 and I love the result.
The rear tires tuck, and the fronts are as low as I can go without hitting the top of the wheelwell. FYI: I did have to roll the rears for my Drag Radials... but the picture below is with a 225/70 14 ( I believe thats a 26" tall, but don't quote me )

I put 2 inch cut coils from OPG in mine, got about 1 1/2 inches lower, but than was on 110k mile springs. Tires don't rub at all.

Here is a picture of mine and a "stocker" (GrittyKitty's car).

I know they aren't 67's, but you get the picture. I beleive if you get a chassis manual, it will tell you how high the suspension parts should be from the ground, then you can measure yours on a flat surface to see if your springs have sagged at all. Mine had sagged about 1/2 inch, which is why I only went 1 1/2 inches lower when I replaced them.

You can also buy drop spindles for a couple hundred bucks for the front.

Thanks for the replies, the pictures really help. I really like that 2 inch drop...I was thinking about keeping the 14" buick rallies for this year (it's just about over!) and mabe opt for some nice 7 teen " American racing in the spring.(no pun intended)...I did have a friend that thought that buick skylarks had some kind of recall re frnt end as his dads would bottom out going over a railroad track, dealer had modified (lifters on coils/replacement coils?)...I would hate to end up with road rash all over my front bumper...by the way guys, NICE RIDES. There is something about Buicks (then again there is something about redheads) that just gets to me...right down to the engine with it's 90 degree heads...any how...

    Later and thanks again.

I wish I could find a place that made dropped spindles for my Cat or anything for the Bigger Buicks! I want to get a better stance and better handling out of her :af:

My GS with very worn out original springs and spring helpers sits about 1-1.5" lower than my Hotchkis sprung Skylark, FYI, which is supposed to lower the car 1" all around. You should be fine with 2". OPGI has them as Chris noted earlier.
