    Whats the

    best you can get out of the SP1?
    Isn't this cam really designed for a single plane?
    I can see a dual plane hurting the HP/TQ numbers with the 290-oh8.Now would everything still be the same with a SP1 from your previous posts?

    Ya, you just won't have quite as much vacuum.. I have see it lose an inch or two.

    This is a situation in which you need to make up for the single plane with a little more intial timing, per my previous posts.

    We have made 530 HP with a performer, on pump gas, with iron heads, with this cam.

    Looks like the older version of the Sp-1, that's all.

    There is about 10 HP available with the cleanup work.. I tested one like yours, against one that was just port matched, with a very little bit of plenum work, about 3 years ago.

    IT was worth right around 10 HP, on a 500 HP motor.
