    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Could one of the Mods move this to the Small Block forum? Thanks!

Sportster - Welcome to the Board!:TU: Didn't mean to leave you 'hangin' - thought this question would get moved to another section already.:Do No:

Anyhow...the cam specs don't look too wild for what you're building. The headers should work OK - the 1 3/4" primaries are actually better suited for mid to upper rpm power though. The carb is on the small side for a 350 Buick - could send it out to JET, The Carb Shop, or many other places to be reworked and 'supersized', so to speak. A 750-800 Q-Jet works well on the Buick 350. The TA Stage 1 intake is the best out there for the 350 - I've got one myself!

For your heads - just do a 'clean up' cut on the heads - .005"-.010" should do it. If you take off too much, you're looking at adjustable pushrods (more $$$ but gives you adjustability).

*You need to pay particular attention to the oiling needs of a Buick!! Use some of the double grooved (backside) cam bearings for better distribution of oil. Make sure your machinist is very familiar with Buicks - if not, RUN!! Find someone else - it's that important!!:Smarty: Rod and main bearing clearance needs to kept tighter than your basic small block Chevy - look for .0015"-.002" Also, make sure your timing cover has not been scored under the gears - if so, replace it!! Good idea to add a booster plate for the oil pump. Stay away from HV oil pumps at all costs!

    GS69350 Buick NUT

Sounds good. Except get rid of that carb. Get a Q-jet, any 70-74 350 or 455 carb will work great. (750-800cfm). 430 carbs will also work good. (I have a 69 430 carb on my 70 low comp 350).
I found the 69 350 carb to be restrictive on the top end compared to later carbs, the 430/455 carbs made a nice difference.

You may want to try the TA 212 cam, heard good things about it and on my dyno software it scored pretty good.
