Thank you
Welcome to the Board. I see you looking to buy a 69 FireGlow Orange GS, that is a real nice and rare color for 1969. Once you see how rare it is, You might change your mind about cutting into it. Read this thread on the color ---> http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=89920&highlight=fireglow
To look like a drag car what do you mean? I hope not by loading your car up with stickers. The easy way to get strip look is to put a classic rim weld or centerline (to name afew) with the front skinny /backs fatter.Gauges,a tach and a shifter give some look to it from the inside.Big exhaust will help aswell.I'm not saying to start messing up your inside of the car, just throwing it out there.( I wouldn't cut up a console to fit a performance shifter in it)A fire extinguisher a harness style belts though they might look silly with Pearl white seats they more go with race seats. I say rims tires and exhaust and see how you like those as they are easy to undo. Jamie
If it's a bucket seat/console car someone added that after the fact. You could only get a bench seat column shift in the GS California. Not that that's a bad thing, just letting you know that it is not "original."
Welcome, it will be nice to have another 69 GS around. good luck with the car...post some pics when you get it home.
I know of one of these cars for sale around town, although not a bucket car. Good Luck in your purchase.
it's fireglow orange... and imma leave it that color on the outside, but it doesn't have bench a bench seat... it has buckets and they look stock... but i mean IDK for sure... I wanna take the seats out put racing seats with a 4 point harness and a 12 point roll cage and skinnys on the front and fats on the back but i have no idea what tires and wheels to get to put on it or size to fit or anything... it has exhaust already on it BTW... and wanna put digital gauges in it... i already have some picked out... I want ideas and thoughts...
Are you sure you want a 12 point cage?If you want it simple get some weld wheels i would do 5 inch on the front with either 195-205 60-70 profile. The skinny fronts like mine do not corner well.On the back i would run 8 inch with a 41/2 backspace and some dot radial mickey tompson 275 these will be 15 inch rims. You might b able to get a 10" rim with 51/2 back space but with that wheelwell i don't know. A sump on the gas tank with braided lines looks racey awell.Just so you know i don't think this is a good plan for this car.Why cage, race seats, harness and so on with a moter that won't run the speed to require it?But this is your car and do what you want with it. Jamie
It's not really that I want the 12 point cage it's just IDK if something happens I don't want this car to be junked... I've been there before... and I like stock size on the front tires but I want different rims (not because I don't like the rims) and back tires I want like really wide lol but not bulging tires... A sump on the gas tank with braided lines... can you show me a pic of this lol cause I'm lost on that comment Logan
the seats need re covering anyway that was my main problem... the seats, the head liner is torn and the carpet it faded... and it needs a paint job... other than that... no problems
Ill try to get pics of my sump and if the car is a project then go right ahead and build a sreet/strip car.Good luck and i'll see about some help with the sump pics to me they look cool. Jamie
ok I still have yet to buy the car but only because the guy hasn't got a new title... but I did take pics of the car and some suck but yeah... and of some places I would need parts for
Logan, that is a real GS in fireglow orange, not a California Special. Very rare with awhite top and interior. Will try to find how rare in the DCR
I was just about to say, i would check the vin to make sure it is not a clone but it def. is not a cali GS. Nice score if it is orginal, very nice color combo!
I wish someone would explain these numbers to me... I have no idea of any of this the paint the production numbers anything I know what they are but not which numbers lol
Logan, in post 3, if you had read the thread on fireglow orange, you wouldn't be asking the questions above. :Smarty: Fireglow Orange was a spring of 69 color only, only 306 GS were painted that color - 156 GS 350 and 150 GS400 which is indicated by the dash in the cowl tag. 434379 of the vin would indicate GS350, 446379 = GS400 :TU:
sadly I read it... i saw that part I am asking what the combo of what numbers mean what... right now I'm looking for window seals and interior...
