Buying a top

I'm finally buying a new top for my '71 Skylark. I have looked at Electron, EZ ON, Kee and Robbins brand tops. Is there any real difference in the these four brands? I have read good things about all. Any bad reviews from experienced top installers/users. The EZ ON is much cheaper, but I don't want to skimp on a couple hundred bucks if the top won't last as long. The thing I have read about the EZ ON's is they are marked for installation. I'm a drop top newbie so any help or advice is appreciated.

    Best regards,

I do not know much, but the guy who installed mine only installs Electron. He likes them the best and they stand behind it.

    Brandon,
Every installer I have met has a preferred brand top they like to install.

The best advice I can give is to find the person you want to install the top first, then ask them the brand they want to install. Some shops want to buy the top themselves while others prefer that you buy it. So it's best to see what they want before buying anything.

On a related note... does the top have to come off to replace the well liner?

Yes ! it installs First ! I hope you are ready for a new top also ?

To the OP, you may want to check with Convertible top specialist in FL, they have very good pricing on Electron top's, if like Duane mentions you installer likes.
$439.00 top, glass curtain and top pads shipped to your door!

Electron and Robbins are the best according to most. I use Electron.
