I have a 72 gs 455 convertible and am new to this forum, does anyone know if 70 gs bumbers will fit on my 72. They look better to me at least. Also looking for buckets and a console - just got to loose the bench seat.

The three years 70-72 will all pretty much interchange but for 70 other parts will need to be changed as well. 70 front bumper onto 72 will require different bumper brackets, signal light housings, different headlight bezels, grille, trim, hood molding. Back bumper will need different brackets I beleive, also 70 fuel tanks the spout was angled differently (not sure on this) I have heard.

71 bumpers will bolt onto 72 car, no other changes (ditches the rubber on the bumpers).

BTW, buckets were not available on ragtops in 71 or 72 except for a few SCOs', so if you change it I would be careful not to make any permanant changes. A real 72 455 ratop is a valuable car, make sure you don't do anything you might regret later when making changes.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

bumbers??? LOL, thanks for the great laugh

I would not change your car. You will lessen its value

As Tim stated, many items need to be changed. One item he forgot is the center hood latch support is slight different. It has the hood release handle lower. You could use the existing one but will need to move the handle down by lengthening the rod from the latch to the handle mechanism.
