Is there a book I can buy so that I can decode my build sheet for my 67 gs ,just found it under my back seat:grin: marco
Marco, I decode all the 68-72 buildsheets and am now working on the 65-67 sheets. If you send me 2 copies I will work on it. If you go to my website; www.classiccarinteriors.com there is a sheet you can print that lists the info I need. I don't want you to send any money, as decoding your sheet will help decode others later. Duane PS. Where was the car built?
decodeing the build sheet Duane that would be sweet  thanks i'll get it to you as soon as posible O-YA the car was built in fremont ( Z ). THANKS: MARCO :TU:
I've found my body shop inspection sheet for my car. Can there be other sheets also somewhere in the car? Thanks, Brian
Brian, If your car was built in Flint, it should have a different type of buildsheet on top of the gas tank. Duane
Hey thanks Duane, I thought the body shop inspection was it. I'm going to drop the tank today and see. Hope there is something left of it. Brian
Brian, I would like to see the body shop inspection sheet from your car. What year car do you have, from your call name I figure it is a 69? Duane
Duane, Yes its a 69 Stage 1 4-speed manual. What would be your option for viewing it? I have a scanner or a copy? I did just drop the tank this morning and found the POBF sheet. Could not believe how good of shape it is. The BSI sheet is good also. There is something I don't understand because the last six digits of my vin number are 177169 and on the POBF at the right coner bottom block "VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION" the last six digits are 177172? Anyway I'll check the post later today for your response. Brian
The tank build sheet you found is for a different car. Same thing happened with my 72GS. Seems like mixing up the build sheets at the factory was pretty common. Kind of surprising they built all the cars right but couldn't keep the paperwork straight that told them how to do it.
Brian, Mike is correct, the sheet you found on the gas tank is for another car. The body shop inspection sheet is probably for your car, I only know of 1 or 2 that were put in the wrong cars. I have a theory about why so many Production Order Body Final (POBF) sheets are under the wrong cars. I have copies from a GS that had multiple POBF sheets in it. They all looked the same, but the printing had different offsets, like the sheets were not aligned correctly when they were printed. I think these "copies" were used at different locations in the production plant, and most of them got discarded. The ones on the gastanks probably were not important, as far as building the cars, so no consideration was given to make sure the right tank got under the right car. Like I said, it's just a theory. Brian, you can put a scan here, or snail-mail me a copy of both sheets. Either way will work as long as they are legible. I can use the info, even if it is wrong for your car. I do not have many 69 sheets. Duane
BSI & POBF Sheets for 69 Hope this works out ok. Wish the POBF would of been the correct one for my car. Good to know that I'm not the only one. Thanks Mike & Duane. Let me know if the pictures are good enough. Brian
I found the body sheet on my 69 GS on the trunk also .Several numbers off if anyone knows who has vehicle # 9H286497 let them know I have the sheet and it is the owners for free. p
