I found the build sheet for my 76 buick century, above the gas tank. It is a low millage totaly stock car, I got from the original owner. I'm looking to decode the color code so I can get the paint color redone original. I can see the obvious stuff but there are a ton of codes on there that look dutch to me! Any ideas?

    Send a copy to Duane.

He charges $25 or so, I'm Not sure the amount. Or take about 200 cars apart, with detailed notes, then maybe you too could decode one.:puzzled:

As far as the color code, I would think that you could get that off the body tag on the cowl/firewall.
(At least you can on a pre-72 car, I assume that would not have changed by 76...)
Give Duane a try, but not sure what good he can do with a 76.

Thanks Bad Boattail, I just meant the numbers and codes mean nothing to me, so I said they look dutch because I can't read them. You have a nice car by the way. Anyone know duane's name on here? I appreciate the help.

    Sean,
I don't have any 76 Century info, Sorry. My A-body info only goes up to 72, after that I only have big car info.

Just so you guys know, because I figure you will ask anyway, the big car info is for 72 Riviera, 75 B,C,E bodies, and 77 Lesabre, 225, and Riviera.

Thanks anyway, Duane. Do you have any tips on finding info to decode this sheet?

    Sean,
It took me 10 years, hundreds of phone calls, and countless hours of cross referencing over 50 buildsheets before I got all the codes for the 1970 Production Order Body Finals figured out. Later I got some help and figured out the 68-69 and 71-72 "POBF" sheets as well as several other type buildsheets. That's how I did it.

I don't know if I can help with this, but if you want to post a copy here I can see what I am getting into. Each type buildsheet is different, and I don't even know what type you have.

If I think I can do something with it, you can send a few paper copies along with the other info from your car. I would need the vin # along with the info off the Fisher ID plate, and a list of options your car has, to start. If I had one from another known car, that would also help. No promises with this one.
