well i need to beat a corvette BADLY, so heres the facts i have a 4500 pound riviera that i will hopefully slim down to 4000. It has a 72' 455, with a th-400.
build me a " strictly racing" engine for as cheap as possible. I think the stock bottom end will work for now. Im just thinking some head work, cam, intake, carb, and cam....nos?

    thanks

There isn't enough info to give an answer to this question. How fast is the Vette and what year is it. Have you raced this Vette in the past? If you lost how bad did you lose. Do you realy want to spend money to beat this Vette? Is it as important to the Vette owner as it is to you? If it is you are screwed,
because if you need power adders to beat the Vette he can come right back
at you with the same thing. Your car is too heavy and unless you have a lot of money you aren't going to succeed. A Corvette is a much better balanced car than a Buick. They have better traction, corner better, have less wind resistance, and are a heck of a lot lighter. I guess what I'm trying to say is you are going to have to spend a lot more money than the Vette owner
is going to have to spend to win. Just about everything you need to go faster has to be bought new unless you get lucky. The Vette owner can go to a swap meet and find the parts to build a killer engine. Sorry to rain on your parade but it sounds like you might be on a limited budget like most of us. I'm not saying you shouldn't build your Rivvy just don't expect to much.
