The other resident car guy here at work and myself were just talking about this this morning. Sounds like lots of good stuff is just going to end up crushed.

There's like a foot of snow on the ground and the cars have practically none. Makes it easy to see what's out there. Too bad the guy shootin' the vid isn't very car savvy.

Sounds like the guy is maybe late 20's early 30's most of those cars are just junk to him.. That is why they are scrapping it out, sounds like they speculated on the deal, and have to "sell it all" to pay for the land they want... I base this on his voice, on his comment of "look at the mess we have" on the selling for scrap price, and on the fact they are doing this in Febuary, when snow and cold will severely limit the turnout and actual sales of the cars, vs putting them in the crusher..

I can't say that in all my years of junkyard scrounging, I ever went out to one in the winter.. always thought the "parts will be there in the spring"..

I think they are shortchanging themselves.. I saw lots of rare 2 door cars in that stash, the old man knew what to save, it's a shame that land speculators will destroy some rare iron, in favor of the dirt it's sitting on.

My buddy was on the phone with them yesterday. They bought the property for the land, basically, and the cars are just in the way to them, so they're doing whatever it takes to get it "cleaned up"....yes definitely not car guys.

Whoever put the "key words" at the bottom of the ad must know something about cars!

I just heard of the same thing here near Atlanta. 300 acres of property and upwards of 50 cars and trucks in and around two barns. Most were too rusty and not special enough to warrant much more than scrap value, but in the rush (deadline was 1/31) a lot of good stuff was lost.

Terrible shame. Just the various trim pcs alone are worth a small fortune to the collector, restoration folks.

Just think of all the trim, emblems, and lenses you could get for $100 at $2/lb.

Just think about a old heavy car,say a caddy,5000 pds, will only cost you $10.000.00 .And there's most likely 500 pds missing in parts already sold.Bruno.

$350/2000(ton) lbs means the whole Caddy will only cost $875.

343BB5F2-BBBD-47C1-B65C-3F9D53AB3523.jpeg Cars are $350/ton. Parts $2/lb. So that Caddy would only be a grand or so, which is still too much (if they’re like the ones near me were). They were all $400-800.
