Jason sent me rear window molding clips and didn't even charge me. Not that I EXPECTED that, but it's guys like this that make this hobby, and this "place" in particular, worth while & great! :beer

    Thanks Jason!

I'm with Ken. It was great of Jason to find the clips and send them to us like that.

Thank you very much Jason!! :TU:

Hey Jason, just curious, I had one clip left from my car, and I took it off and I compared them to the ones you sent me and they look kind of different.

    Check this out.

You think they should still work? I noticed, while browsing the year one website, there are two different types of clips used. The rear clips for "rear moldings for 1968 models with soft roof trim. " look like the ones you sent me, and the ones for "windshield and rear window on 1969 models" look like the one I have.

Why would they be any different?

I went out to my 72 just now and test fitted the new clips. Wouldnt you know it, the mouldings dont snap in place. Dammit! And the new clip looks almost identical to the original one. Hey, its the thought that counts right?

Check out page 17 of this catalog. The number I ordered was #389. The only other one that looked close was #379 but the OE clip I have doesnt have that sawtooth pattern where the stud goes. Also, #379 was discontinued so they told me. The one you posted Ken looks like #390 maybe. This is so confusing! :ball: Im going to have to do some checking on my end here. I have all the original #s from my parts book, but the numbers they list in the clip catalog dont correlate. I'll go back to my auto body supply on Monday and look over their selection again. I'll give you an update Monday eve.

Here's the pic again of the original one from my non vinyl top 72...

    rear window clips...the agony continues!

Ken- Just took out my Year One catalog and your right. it shows the idetical clip to the one I sent you as "1965-1967 upper and lower windshield side molding clips. 1966-68 rear with soft roof trim"

Now Im wondering if they fit a 68 with a vinyl top, why wouldnt they fit a 69  Maybe they are correct for your year but not mine?

    That's interesting..

I compared the clips Jason sent to the clips on the rear window of my 69 (no vinyl top) and they're the same. :Do No:

Did different assembly plants use different clips?
