I hope to see a nice turnout for this event. We should have upwards of $2000 in prize money up for grabs. Sponsors like Precision Billet Design, TA Performance, Ultimate Converters, Cotton Performance, SD Lyons, Auto Center @ Reader's Digest, Stage 1 Auto, & Kirban's to name a few that have commited to the event. Please let us know if you plan on attending. Thanks John

    John,
Vinny and I are going either way with or without my car. I'm working my butt off to finish my car to make this event. It's a great day to see some of the Northeast's fastest Buicks.

Test & tune with us added. Check their website for more info. When we do Cecil Dragway in September we have the track both days just for Buicks.

I'd really like to bring my Skylark up. I've never raced before, though, and I really don't expect it to be very quick at this point. Would this be a good weekend to give it a shot or is it geared more for guys with experience? I'd love to make my first run with other Buick guys around...

All right then, I'll definitely try to be there. Any tips or reminders for a new racer? I plan on looking over their rules and probably giving them a call to make sure the car will go through tech ok...

Does anyone know where I can read rules without joining the NHRA or buying one? I've read that drivers with cars slower than 13.99 don't need a helmet. Is this true? I want to buy a helmet anyway, but I can't find a definitive answer as to what rating I need on it.

Here are some other things I've read. If anyone with experience has any insight as to weather these are true or false, or any other input, I'd appreciate your advice.

    1. Long pants, no clothing made of nylon. Closed toed shoes.
    2. Coolant overflow can of at least 1 pint.
    3. No rubber fuel line longer than 12".
    4. I read that documents/licenses need to be presented. I'm assuming for me this just means drivers license, insurance and reg?

I don't plan on running much faster than 15.00 or so with my car the way it is now, so I know a lot of the rules for faster cars don't apply to me. I'm going to be trailering the car about three hours to get there though, so I want to make sure everything is ready to go so I'll be able to pass tech inspection and race without any problems.

Hey, would any of you guys going on 25th have a spare set of slicks that I could use for one run in my skylark?

Yes you need a Snell approved helmet. That is about it for a stock car like yours.

    techg8 The BS GS

I have seen Lebanon reject people for wearing shorts. Need long pants

SA2005 or newer helmet (Snell) - I have seen people get by with "M" motorcycle helmets, but who knows....I think youre right about the requirement as far as ET goes.

Can anyone shed some light on what time the action starts, what the format is?
Test and tune all day, or just morning with racing in afternoon- or ????
I am planning on driving in from eastern MA just to be a spectator and can't seem to fine details anywhere.
    Thx!
