What is the difference between a Buick Skylark and a Chevy Chevelle? Taking 1970 to 1972. I know this is a Buick site and I'm not trying to insult anyone. Just curious, Olds, Buick and Chevelle's have the same body style. Anything else they have in common? Interchangable parts? Seats? Wheels?etc....qqnick

I believe the only thing that will interchange is the suspension and rear axle. Everything else, engine, trans, doors, fenders, bumpers, interiors, etc..... is different.

I also second that the Buick has more class in its door lock knobs than a chevelle has in its entirety.

Just remember that the GS Stage 1 is the fastest 4 passenger muscle car built.

I thought the trunk lids were the same but no other sheet metal.

    trunk lids are the same.

I am under the impression that seat (frames at least) will interchange through all the A-bodies of those years.

The trunk lids from the 70-72 monte carlo will interchange as well.

Floorpans in my '70 Skylark were made for a Chevelle. I imagine trunk pans are the same, too. I bet the carpets are the same, and windsheilds, too. Convertible roof should be the same. maybe stuff like power window motors and regulator mechanisms, wiper motors and transmissions, and radios with the exception of script and letters on the buttons. Let me think...bumper jack, maybe? Brake cylinders and boosters probably...heater core, blower motor, I don't see why not... A/C compressors? '70-'72 Chevelle is a handsome car. No wonder, with that Skylark trunklid!
