Am I the only one that saw the mirror referenced was the rear view mirror ? Brad my wifes 72 Suncoupe come with the sport mirrors and I have had several other non GS larks with these mirrors . I just took a set off a car in the yard and they looked to be factory installed . Just wondering about the yellow color I did not see where he stated it was QQ . Maybe its a special order light yellow car that was given the GSX package and maybe it is a clone . I say investigate man and lets find out .

John, at this point I cannot say for '72's as I only have an assembly manual for '71's. The '71 assembly manual does say specifically models 3437 (GS hardtop) and 3467 (GS convertible) only. In 1970, ONLY GSX's had the sport mirrors from the factory.

There's no question about it,GSX's are very mysterious cars and they get even more mysterious when it's either a 1971 or 1972.

No question about it,the GSX's have a mystery about them.(also I might add,the GS Stage 1's have a mystery about them too!).

I agree , when cars are built sometimes they are not exactally as the factory info . I have numerous factory bullkitens and assembly manuals that show a Boss 429 available in a Torino Cobra , Never built ! I have had 4 Skylark Suncoupes and 2 GS Suncoupe's and all had the sport mirrors (body color) . I could believe that a couple of those were ad ons but some were owned in the late 70's . Just wondering if 71 and 72 were different . I have owned 3 71 Skylarks and 1 71 GS , all had the chrome side mirrors .
